Small Detachment of R.E.C. Officers Visit J.N.C. Docks Ahead of Confabulation
A small detachment of officers visit the J.N.C.'s Western Terminus docks to hand-deliver telegrams that arrived to the Royal Exploration Corps Radio Telegraphy Room. Telegrams inviting Officers and Distinguished Members to the upcoming annual R.E.C. Confabulation.
The Officers stopped shortly after arriving and disembarking from the Corps' dirigible, moored for the day the at local airfield, to pay respects to a long time friend of the R.E.C., Frank. Frank would greet Corps members as they were en route to the Lost Delta and J.N.C. areas. Frank, always one to greet explorers and other adventurers to the "Lands", recently passed away. He will be missed by everyone that had the great pleasure and honor to know him. The R.E.C. salutes and thanks him for his friendship. A great man, and one that brought extra "Magic" inside the Berm.
The detachment proceeded, consulting the docks bulletin board as to Skippers, and R.E.C. Members, currently on duty. Discovering that longtime Distinguished Member Skipper Matt was on duty transporting explorers and guests deep into the jungle, the detachment requested a cruise with the skipper. While touring, and in-between signs of danger, the Corps members delivered the Confabulation invitation telegram to the Skipper.
Once back at the docks, the detachment members spotted a Skipper they'd had their eye on for some time, Skipper Mara. The R.E.C. can spot accomplished explorers and often looks to offer them the great honor of enlisting with the Royal Exploration Corp. Skipper Mara indicated that she did in fact know of the R.E.C. and was hopeful to become part of the Corps. And with that, and by having the required number of Officers in attendance, a membership ceremony was conducted and the Skipper was presented with official regalia and welcomed to the Corps.
The Royal Exploration Corps' Annual Officers Confabulation and Northern Hemisphere Summer Soiree will be held Sunday, September 7th at 1500hrs. The Broken Compass - Burbank California will be hosting the Corps. The Compass is open to the public, so all explorers are welcome as seating permits.
